| Western blot detection of brain phosphoproteins after performing Laser Microdissection and Pressure Catapulting (LMPC). Maitre M, Roullot-Lacarrière V, Piazza PV, Revest JM.J Neurosci Methods. 2011 Jun 15;198(2):204-12. Epub 2011 Apr 12. | ||||
| We demonstrated that LMPC (Laser Microdissection and Pressure Catapulting) is a valuable tool, coupled with immunoblotting technique, to allow identifying phosphoproteins from small brain areas. Our findings are an initial experimental step toward uncovering the molecular mechanisms involving brain phosphoproteins through the identification of the specific target cells or group of cells where these molecular events take place. The use of LMPC in combination with immunoblotting technique offers powerful advantages such as reliability, reproducibility and selectivity compared to conventional manual dissection. Consequently, we can conclude that association of these two techniques will allow the identification of neural targets mediating brain-related disorders and will surely open the way to underpin the precise molecular basis of certain brain-related disorders .
