  Program areas:
Synapse
Normal and pathological motor control

FENS Themes:
Motor systems / Basal ganglia ; Synaptic transmission and excitability / Synaptic plasticity ; Synaptic transmission and excitability / Intrinsic membrane properties

Scientific expertise:
dopamine ; Parkinson's disease ; receptors of GABA ; animal models of Parkinson's disease

Technical expertise:
patch-clamp electrophysiology ; electrophysiology in brain slices

Keywords:
rythmic activities ; dopamine ; electrophysiology ; basal ganglia ; subthalamic nucleus ; Parkinson's disease ; synaptic plasticity ; GABA receptor ; synaptic transmission

Research interests: to study the role of GABAergic and dopaminergic transmissions in the generation of oscillatory activity in the basal ganglia. Our research focuses neuronal excitability and synaptic plasticity of GABAergic synapses in intacts and dopamine-depleted animals.
